The field is initialized by ioc_pd_init() and never cleared. The NULL deref is caused by blkcg_activate_policy() installing blkg_policy_data before initializing it. blkcg_activate_policy() was doing the following: 1. Allocate pd's for all existing blkg's and install them in blkg->pd[]. 2. Initialize all pd's. 3. Online all pd's. blkcg_activate_policy() only grabs the queue_lock and may release and re-acquire the lock as allocation may need to sleep. ioc_weight_write() grabs blkcg->lock and iterates all its blkg's. The two can race and if ioc_weight_write() runs during #1 or between #1 and #2, it can encounter a pd which is not initialized yet, leading to crash. The crash can be reproduced with the following script: #!/bin/bash echo +io > /sys/fs/cgroup/cgroup.subtree_control systemd-run --unit touch-sda --scope dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/null bs=1M count=1 iflag=direct echo 100 > /sys/fs/cgroup/system.slice/io.weight bash -c "echo '8:0 enable=1' > /sys/fs/cgroup/io.cost.qos" & sleep .2 echo 100 > /sys/fs/cgroup/system.slice/io.weight with the following patch applied: > diff --git a/block/blk-cgroup.c b/block/blk-cgroup.c > index fc49be622e05..38d671d5e10c 100644 > --- a/block/blk-cgroup.c > +++ b/block/blk-cgroup.c > @@ -1553,6 +1553,12 @@ int blkcg_activate_policy(struct gendisk *disk, const struct blkcg_policy *pol) > pd->online = false; > } > > + if (system_state == SYSTEM_RUNNING) { > + spin_unlock_irq(&q->queue_lock); > + ssleep(1); > + spin_lock_irq(&q->queue_lock); > + } > + > /* all allocated, init in the same order */ > if (pol->pd_init_fn) > list_for_each_entry_reverse(blkg, &q->blkg_list, q_node) I don't see a reason why all pd's should be allocated, initialized and onlined together. The only ordering requirement is that parent blkgs to be initialized and onlined before children, which is guaranteed from the walking order. Let's fix the bug by allocating, initializing and onlining pd for each blkg and holding blkcg->lock over initialization and onlining. This ensures that an installed blkg is always fully initialized and onlined removing the the race window.
CVE-2023-54273 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 5.5 Medium

CVE-2023-54275 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: Fix memory leak in ath11k_peer_rx_frag_setup crypto_alloc_shash() allocates resources, which should be released by crypto_free_shash(). When ath11k_peer_find() fails, there has memory leak. Add missing crypto_free_shash() to fix this.
CVE-2023-54255 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sh: dma: Fix DMA channel offset calculation Various SoCs of the SH3, SH4 and SH4A family, which use this driver, feature a differing number of DMA channels, which can be distributed between up to two DMAC modules. The existing implementation fails to correctly accommodate for all those variations, resulting in wrong channel offset calculations and leading to kernel panics. Rewrite dma_base_addr() in order to properly calculate channel offsets in a DMAC module. Fix dmaor_read_reg() and dmaor_write_reg(), so that the correct DMAC module base is selected for the DMAOR register.
CVE-2023-54284 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: av7110: prevent underflow in write_ts_to_decoder() The buf[4] value comes from the user via ts_play(). It is a value in the u8 range. The final length we pass to av7110_ipack_instant_repack() is "len - (buf[4] + 1) - 4" so add a check to ensure that the length is not negative. It's not clear that passing a negative len value does anything bad necessarily, but it's not best practice. With the new bounds checking the "if (!len)" condition is no longer possible or required so remove that.
CVE-2023-54289 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qedf: Fix NULL dereference in error handling Smatch reported: drivers/scsi/qedf/qedf_main.c:3056 qedf_alloc_global_queues() warn: missing unwind goto? At this point in the function, nothing has been allocated so we can return directly. In particular the "qedf->global_queues" have not been allocated so calling qedf_free_global_queues() will lead to a NULL dereference when we check if (!gl[i]) and "gl" is NULL.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: raa215300: Fix resource leak in case of error The clk_register_clkdev() allocates memory by calling vclkdev_alloc() and this memory is not freed in the error path. Similarly, resources allocated by clk_register_fixed_rate() are not freed in the error path. Fix these issues by using devm_clk_hw_register_fixed_rate() and devm_clk_hw_register_clkdev(). After this, the static variable clk is not needed. Replace it with  local variable hw in probe() and drop calling clk_unregister_fixed_rate() from raa215300_rtc_unregister_device().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: imx93: fix memory leak and missing unwind goto in imx93_clocks_probe In function probe(), it returns directly without unregistered hws when error occurs. Fix this by adding 'goto unregister_hws;' on line 295 and line 310. Use devm_kzalloc() instead of kzalloc() to automatically free the memory using devm_kfree() when error occurs. Replace of_iomap() with devm_of_iomap() to automatically handle the unused ioremap region and delete 'iounmap(anatop_base);' in unregister_hws.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: fastrpc: fix memory corruption on open The probe session-duplication overflow check incremented the session count also when there were no more available sessions so that memory beyond the fixed-size slab-allocated session array could be corrupted in fastrpc_session_alloc() on open().
CVE-2022-49949 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware_loader: Fix memory leak in firmware upload In the case of firmware-upload, an instance of struct fw_upload is allocated in firmware_upload_register(). This data needs to be freed in fw_dev_release(). Create a new fw_upload_free() function in sysfs_upload.c to handle the firmware-upload specific memory frees and incorporate the missing kfree call for the fw_upload structure.

CVE-2023-52927 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-31 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: allow exp not to be removed in nf_ct_find_expectation Currently nf_conntrack_in() calling nf_ct_find_expectation() will remove the exp from the hash table. However, in some scenario, we expect the exp not to be removed when the created ct will not be confirmed, like in OVS and TC conntrack in the following patches. This patch allows exp not to be removed by setting IPS_CONFIRMED in the status of the tmpl.
