| By exploiting the defVals parameter, attackers could bypass field‑level access checks during record creation in the TYPO3 backend. This gave them the ability to insert arbitrary data into prohibited exclude fields of a database table for which the user already has write permission for a reduced set of fields. This issue affects TYPO3 CMS versions 10.0.0-10.4.54, 11.0.0-11.5.48, 12.0.0-12.4.40, 13.0.0-13.4.22 and 14.0.0-14.0.1. |
| Backend users with access to the redirects module and write permission on the sys_redirect table were able to read, create, and modify any redirect record without restriction to the user’s own file-mounts or web-mounts. This allowed attackers to insert or alter redirects pointing to arbitrary URLs – facilitating phishing or other malicious redirect attacks. | TYPO3 is an enterprise content management system. Starting in version 9.0.0 and prior to versions 9.5.48 ELTS, 10.4.45 ELTS, 11.5.37 LTS, 12.4.15 LTS, and 13.1.1, the `ShowImageController` (`_eID tx_cms_showpic_`) lacks a cryptographic HMAC-signature on the `frame` HTTP query parameter (e.g. `/index.php?eID=tx_cms_showpic?file=3&...&frame=12345`). This allows adversaries to instruct the system to produce an arbitrary number of thumbnail images on the server side. TYPO3 versions 9.5.48 ELTS, 10.4.45 ELTS, 11.5.37 LTS, 12.4.15 LTS, 13.1.1 fix the problem described. |

Backend users could see items in the backend page tree without having access if the mounts pointed to pages restricted for their user/group, or if no mounts were configured but the pages allowed access to "everybody." However, affected users could not manipulate these pages. Users are advised to update to TYPO3 versions 10.4.46 ELTS, 11.5.40 LTS, 12.4.21 LTS, 13.3.1 that fix the problem described. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. |
